Even though West's club suit is strong, he will probably lead a heart based on the bidding.

As it happens, a club would have given us an immediate overtrick. On the heart lead, we should play low from dummy in case West has both missing honours, but East wins with the queen. If he returns a spade, it is perfectly safe to insert the nine, and if West wins with the king or queen, perfectly safe to later finesse against the other missing honour.

When we play the diamonds, we want to win the third round in dummy, so we must play the A and Q on the first two rounds.

As the cards lie, we should make ten tricks.
