Working out the distribution

It is easy to work out EW's exact distribution.

Neither of them bid hearts despite a ten-card fit. Clearly they must be 5-5. So West must have all five missing spades. East must have the remaining six diamonds. So East is 0-5-6-2 and West is 5-5-1-2.

It is impossible for East to have more than 12 points, but unlikely to be that many, since with ♠– ♥KQJxx ♦KQJ942 ♣xx she would surely have bid stronger.
