West might have a punt at 3NT based on the intermediate values.
The diamond lead is brilliant for us, because we have an immediate free finesse against the ten by playing low in dummy. We win with the eight.
We could now lead another diamond to force out the ace. But with all those guards in the black suits it is probably better to try and set up a heart trick. After all, opponents may well continue diamonds for us.
Later, when playing the spades, we want to win the second round in dummy, so should cash the ♠Q on round one.
We should make nine tricks.
